Too much garbage in BJP, SP will have to clean it up: Akhilesh
LUCKNOW:Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said there was too much garbage in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and urged his party workers to do a ‘clean-up’ job.
He was addressing a gathering of newly elected corporators, Nagar Paika chairpersons and Nagar Panchayat chairpersons at the party office.
Yadav said: “BJP ke andar kooda zyada hai, lekin vahi jhadu pakde huey hai. Unkey vicharon mein gandagi bhari hai. Ab koode ko saaf karney ki zimmedari Samajwadi Party ko uthani padegi (There is too much garbage in the BJP, but it is they who are going for photo-ops with brooms in their hands. Their minds are dirty and the SP must take up the cleaning up job).”
Citing his recent visit to Gujarat for the assembly election campaign there, Yadav also said: “Gujarat has a lot of garbage. The Gujarat model is a myth.”
He congratulated those SP candidates who won the recent urban local bodies polls in UP and called them the foundation of the party. Asking the party to prepare for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, he urged the party workers to beware of “BJP’s lies.
“We have a long drawn fight ahead,” he said.

Criticising BJP government in UP, Akhilesh said it could not deliver in nine months and crime had sky-rocketed during this period. Power tariff had been hiked enormously, increasing the difficulties of farmers, he said. “The BJP harps on smart cities. But what does it mean and where are they? No one knows. This too is the BJP’s propaganda politics. The BJP highlighted its victories in cities as if the urban local bodies’ polls were held only in the cities. It hasn’t mentioned its poor performance in the Nagar Palika Parishads and Nagar Panchayats,” he said.
