Health dept shuts down pvt hosp after govt doc found working there

-

LUCKNOW: Yet another case of a government doctor doing private practice came to light on Saturday when a health department team inspected a private hospital in Mohanlalganj.

The hospital was closed by the health department after it came to light that it did not have the mandatory registration with the office of the chief medical officer, Lucknow and that a government doctor was working there.

As per the rules, government doctors cannot work at any private institution during their service period. As far as the registration is concerned, it is mandatory for all private hospitals and nursing homes to get registered. “The owner of the hospital said that Dr A Kumar was giving his services here and was also charging money for it,” said CMO Dr GS Bajpayee. There were four patients admitted at the hospital at the time of inspection. Two patents were shifted to government hospital and two were discharged. “One of the patients in orthopaedic department was under treatment of Dr Anurag Mishra and another, a woman patient, was being treated by Dr Abhai Krishna, a surgeon,” said the CMO.

Dr A Kumar will now be served a show cause notice along with the hospital. Further probe will also be conducted. If found guilty, the government doctor will face disciplinary action as per the service rules.

The hospital will face action as it was not registered with the CMO office.

HOSP ALSO DID NOT HAVE THE MANDATORY REGISTRATION WITH THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
