INDIGO ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS BETWEEN LUCKNOW & CHENNAI
LUCKNOW: IndiGo has announced additional flights between Lucknow and Chennai from February 20.
Flight number 6E 0515 will take off from Chennai at 3.15 pm and reach Lucknow at 6 pm. Flight number 6E 0518 will depart from Lucknow at 6.30 pm and reach Chennai at 9.15 pm.
The journey will be 2 hours and 45 minutes. The expansion is in sync with response to the growing demand on existing routes.
Speaking about the latest network expansion, Sanjay Kumar, chief commercial officer, IndiGo said, “We are delighted to begin the year with yet another announcement to provide better customer experience and connectivity to our customers through these additional frequencies.”
“With soaring demand on these sectors, we are hopeful that these flights will prove to be popular among our customers,” he said.
The airline recently became the first Indian airline to fly 1,000 flights daily and the introduction of additional frequencies in a span of a few days was a fitting testimony to its commitment to build India’s largest airline network, he said.
The company recently announced the introduction of ATR aircraft to its fleet and four new destinations - Colombo, Vijaywada, Rajahmundry and Tirupati – to its network.
Soon, four major districts of the state will have air connectivity with the other cities in the country. Under regional connectivity scheme, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra and Varanasi are going to have air connectivity with five other cities .
The government of India and Airports Authority of India (AAI) have finalised the routes for the flights after studying the air traffic between these cities.
