Kashmiri man caught sans ticket on Shatabdi, handed over to ATS
AGRA : A Kashmiri man was allegedly caught travelling without ticket on the New Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express at Mathura on Sunday morning.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) nabbed the 35-yearold suspect, Bilal Ahmad Bani, a resident of Anantnag in Kashmir, on information received by the control room at Mathura station, sources said.
Security agencies got the alert after abnormal behaviour by the man. The man was handed over to an ATS team headed by its superintendent of police Brajesh Srivastava.
He was being interrogated by Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) official when reports were last received.
“Our control room received information at about 8am on Sunday about a suspicious looking man travelling without ticket on the Shatabdi Express moving from New Delhi to Bhopal. The man was brought down as the Shatabdi Express reached Mathura station. He was taken for interrogation,” said a GRP official on condition of anonymity.
“The man was identified as Bilal Ahmad Bani from Dilgaon in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir. He is engaged in the medicine trade. Initially, he was uncooperative during questioning and appeared mentally unstable,” the official said.
Later, the intelligence unit joined the questioning but did not get much information.
