ABVP sweeps polls in Muz’nagar

MUZAFFARNA­GAR: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ( ABVP) candidates have bagged the top posts in all three colleges here where students union elections were held.

Like Meerut, here too the Samajwadi Party, RLD and Congress had formed an alliance against the ABVP.

In SD PG College, out of 1152 voters, 619 cast their votes. ABVP candidate Anshu Malik bagged 486 votes to win the post of president, while Nitin Gautam, also of ABVP, was elected vice president with 309 votes.

The party also won the post of general secretary. Its candidate Vishal Sharma secured 354 votes and was declared elected. For the post of joint secretary, Kartik Goyal of ABVP was elected with 280 votes.

In DAV PG College, for the post of president, Gaurav Kumar of ABVP(582 votes) defeated his nearest rival and alliance candidate Deepak kumar (141votes), while for the post of vice president Gauri Chauhan of ABVP ( 523 votes) defeated her nearest rival Shahrukh Malik (284 votes).

For the post of general secretary, Shubham Saini of ABVP (492 votes) was declared elected. For the post of joint secretary, Aman Jain (521 votes) of ABVP was declared elected.

In Chhotu Ram Post Graduate College, in all 20 candidates had filed papers for the posts of president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary but on January 5, only four nomination­s were found correct and on all the four posts the panel of ABVP was elected unopposed. Nikhil Kumar became president, Rahul Kumar vice president, Sonit Kumar secretary and Nanveet Khare joint secretary. After the declaratio­n of results, a wave of joy spread among ABVP supporters who celebrated the victory with enthusiasm.
