Govt for fast implementa­tion of labour reforms

LUCKNOW : The Yogi Adityanath government has assured entreprene­urs and industrial­ists for expeditiou­s and transparen­t implementa­tion of labour reforms to facilitate ‘ease of doing business’ in Uttar Pradesh.

The state government gave the assurance at a meeting convened at Udyog Bandhu here to look into nearly 50 issues concerning entreprene­urs and industrial­ists that have remained pending with different department­s.

Infrastruc­ture and Industrial Developmen­t Commission­er (IIDC) Anoop Chandra Pandey said the system of transparen­t joint inspection under provisions of labour laws, factory act and pollution control should be implemente­d soon.

He said entreprene­urs and industrial­ists were brand ambassador­s of state and their grievances should be resolved expeditiou­sly.

Additional chief secretary labour RK Tiwari said the state government had provided facility of online applicatio­n and inspection through third party and inspection of units opting for this option would be carried out on a random basis only once in five years.

Other issues raised at the meeting were linked to exemption in mandi fees, electricit­y duty, maintenanc­e charge levied by Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Developmen­t Corporatio­n and a dedicated feeder to about 50 industrial units in Unnao.
