LUCKNOW: A day after parents’ protest over the stabbing incident, Brightland College decided to remain closed from Friday till Monday, fearing vandalism.

Concerned over children’s safety, hundreds of parents had gathered outside the institution on Thursday and shouted slogans against the school management, accusing them of negligence.

The protest lasted for many hours and ended after police’s assurance that appropriate action would be taken against the management.

FATHER NOT ALLOWED TO MEET CM, UNHAPPY

Rajesh Sharma, father of the Class 1 boy, expressed displeasure as he and his wife were not allowed to meet chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday when he came to the hospital to see their son.

“It was nice that chief minister came to see my son. But what was painful for us was that we were not allowed to be near our son when the chief minister came.

The authorities did not allow us to meet or interact with him. Maybe, we could have asked for better health facilities,” said Rajesh.

He said, “The injuries on my son’s body may heal with time and medical treatment. But what about the fear that has now gripped his mind at this tender age. He may not be able to recover from that.”

The boy’s father wants stern action against the student who allegedly injured his son.

“Today, she attacked my son, tomorrow it could be another child. If she has this bent of mind at this young age, it is important that she be sent to a rehab centre where experts can attend on her and help her to come out of that mindset,” added the boy’s father.
