SCHOOL STABBING CASE: FAMILY OF SUSPECT GIRL WANTS CBI PROBE

LUCKNOW: Lawyer of the suspect girl in Brightland School stabbing case said on Sunday, her family wants the case to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigat­ion as they have no faith in police investigat­ion and they also questioned school management’s role in the entire case. Lawyer Naushad Ali Khan and girl’s father questioned why the school did not report the matter to the police and concealed it for more than 24 hours. They also alleged about why did school teacher cut suspect girl’s hair while it was the job of the police to collect the sample.

Lawyer Naushad Ali Khan and the girl’s father questioned why the school did not report the matter to the police and concealed it for more than 24 hours.

They also wanted to know why the school teacher cut the suspect girl’s hair while it was the job of the police to collect the sample. Her father said, “The school management is trying to shield somebody and in the process they and the police are trying to frame my daughter, who too is a minor and innocent. We want the guilty

to be punished but the innocent should be spared.”

The suspect girl also answered queries of media persons. She recalled how she had been hounded by the school since Tuesday afternoon till she was sent to the juvenile home. “I have done nothing wrong and still everybody is questionin­g me about the incident,” she said.

The family claimed the school had been saying that it had CCTV footage that showed the suspect girl going inside the toilet. But the footage was never shown to the family.
