Yogi asks varsities to run job oriented courses for women
GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked the UP universities to run job- oriented courses, which can make women self-reliant. Adityanath was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of nursing students of the Guru Gorakhnath College of Nursing. Governor Ram Naik was also present on the occasion.

“The nursing course offers immense possibility of employment .One can join a private or a government hospital to look after patients. In both cases, it will be woman empowerment,” the chief minister said .
He hoped the students will use their qualification to serve people and earn a livelihood with dignity . The CM said this nursing college was the first institution of its to be affiliated by the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.
The CM said DDU University initially denied affiliation to the nursing college. It was then that he wrote to the governor who immediately directed that affiliation be granted in 2016, he said. As many as 120 general midwifery, auxilliary midwifery(ANMs) and 30 BSc nursing students, who completed their training in the 2016-17 academic session, took oath to serve mankind as nurses.
