Man ends life after killing second wife, infant daughter

-

LUCKNOW: A 28-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison after slitting the throats of his second wife and their two-month-old daughter in Madiaon during the wee hours of Wednesday.

Police said the man was staying with his second wife without the knowledge of his first wife and two children from that marriage. In a suicide note, he blamed his second wife and her two sisters for blackmailing him and keeping him from meeting his first wife and children.

The deceased were identified as Parshuram, his wife Noori alias Neelu and their daughter. Parshuram was the chauffeur of a lady bank officer while Noori worked as a cook at Prabhakar hospital. They had been living in the servants’ quarters of the hospital for about 18 months.

Dr Raj Awasthi, owner of Prabhakar hospital, told cops that the couple got into an argument at around 3am. He said other staff members staying in the quarters tried intervening but the couple did not open their door. “Suddenly there was silence after which the staff members informed me,” he added.

“When I knocked on their door, Parshuram came out stumbling and fainted. The blood soaked bodies of Noori and her daughter were lying inside. Parshurman was also declared dead later,” said Dr Awasthi.

ASP trans-Gomti Harendra Kumar said the police recovered a kitchen knife stained with blood. “Primary probe suggests Parshuram first slit the throats of his wife and daughter and then consumed poison,” he said.

He added that Parshuram left behind a three-page suicide note in which he apologised to his first wife Rajkumari and two children. “He said his first and children lived with his parental family in Thakurganj,” said the ASP.

“Prashuram said the three sisters (Noori and her siblings) trapped married men. He said Noori started living with him forcefully as per her sisters’ plan and secretly handed over his earnings to them. He said Noori forcibly transferred his car’s ownership to her name and gave the papers to her sisters” the ASP said. “Parshuram’s kin were informed after getting their address from his driving license, but Noori’s sisters could not be contacted. Their mobile phones are continuously coming switched off,” he added.
