Ambani, Adani groups set to announce investments
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh minister for industrial development Satish Mahana on Friday said leading industrialists, including those from Ambani and Adani groups, will make an announcement about their investment projects in the state at investors’ summit being organised here on February 21 and 22.
Leading industrialists will make announcements in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Mahana after performing Bhumi Pujan at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, the summit venue here.
He said industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla will also announce projects on the occasion. Mahana said no target had been set for attracting investment. He said the investors had lost their faith in UP during the tenure of previous governments.
Mahana said the state government wanted to make Uttar Pradesh an industrial hub. It had organised road shows at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad etc. to attract investment to Uttar Pradesh.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath had attended the Mumbai roadshow and many leading industrialists had met him there to discuss their investment proposals.
The state government has already claimed to have received investment proposals of over Rs 2.50 lakh crore.
Yogi has been monitoring preparations for the summit and on Wednesday he asked all the departments to clear all pending proposals about investment in state before the summit.
The state government has already indicated that Adani group and IFSL have shown interest in investment in Kanpur, Agra and Meerut Metro Rail projects on public private partnership (PPP) model.
