LUCKNOW CITIZENS FORM HUMAN CHAIN TO PROTEST KASGANJ VIOLENCE
LUCKNOW : To protest against recent communal violence in Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, hundreds of like-minded citizens in the state capital formed a human chain on Sunday, appealing the state government to uphold preamble of the Constitution and protect weak people from being attacked by troublemakers. The protesters gathered near the Gandhi statue carrying placards with messages like Unity is humanity, We love India, We want peace and not pieces and many other such slogans. Some of the prominent citizens of Lucknow who participated in the formation of human chain were Prof Roop Rekha Verma, Prof Ramesh Dikshit, Madhavi Kukreja, Deepak Kabir and others, said Asif Khan, a social activist. “We are here for peace, unity and communal harmony,” said Ramesh Dikshit.
