PATIENTS PROTEST OUTSIDE HOSP DIRECTOR’S OFFICE

-

LUCKNOW : Administrative failure at Balrampur hospital resulted in irate patients walking up to the hospital director’s office to register their protest on Tuesday. The problem started when one of the physicians left the OPD complex at 2pm, while patients were still waiting for their turn for medical consultation. This caused the patients and their attendants to march up to the administrative block and stage a protest outside the office of hospital director Dr Rajiv Lochan. The protest lasted for over half-anhour. Patients alleged that the medical staff outside OPD chamber 205 pocketed their money on the pretext of ‘priority appointments’ but they never got to see the doctor. Showing his OPD ticket, an angry patient complained to the director, “When we have the OPD ticket, then why are we being deprived of consultation? The doctor should have seen the patient.” Admitting the fault, the hospital director said, “Now, we have decided to ensure that all those who have OPD tickets get a chance to see the doctor.”
