CBSE DISCONTINUES THREE VOCATIONAL SUBJECTS FOR CLASS 9 FROM 201819
NEW DELHI: English communicative, information and communication technology as well as an elective subject of e-publishing and e-office will not be taught at central board of secondary education (CBSE) schools from the academic session of 2018-19. The board has discontinued these three subjects for Class 9. It has also discontinued the teaching of Kerala’s Mohiniyattam dance, offered as a subject in Class 11, from this year. Two more subjects — multimedia and web technology as well as an English elective — CBSE taught to students of class 9, were also discontinued. “Schools are advised not to offer these subjects... from the forth coming session of 2018-19,” the CBSE said in a notification on Monday. The board clarified that the current batch of students for these subjects will not be affected.
