Won’t ban beef in Tripura, says BJP’s Sunil Deodhar

MUMBAI: The BJP will not implement the beef ban in Tripura as a sign of respect to the demands of the majority of state’s people, said BJP leader Sunil Deodhar while speaking in Mumbai on Tuesday. Deodhar played a key role in the BJP’s victory in the recently held assembly election in the northeastern state. “This is a democracy. There are a lot of Muslims and Christians in Tripura, and a lot of Hindus there also eat beef because as a matter of culture. We cannot take food off the plate for 90% of the population.
