LUCKNOW: A solitary first-half goal by Nitish Shyam helped favourites Lucknow win State Under-16 Football Championship, defeating Gorakhpur by 1-0, at Behraich on Wednesday. Nitish struck the all-important in the 15th minute. Full marks to Lucknow’s custodian Saurabh Gaur, who thwarted a number of attempts of rivals in the second half.

New rules and regulations, behavior on the court, awareness, three-man officiating mechanism and duties of table officials remained the key points of discussion during the referees clinic conducted by the Lucknow District Basketball Association here on Wednesday.
