The rich haul of seizure was made from two lockers only out of six lockers, keys of which were found from suspended SSP’s in-laws residence in Muzaffarnagar in UP.

Notably, a raid has been going on since Monday last at the residence of Kumar and his native district Saharanpur and his in-laws house at Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

The state government yesterday suspended Vivek Kumar after the Special Vigilance Unit’s raided his and his in-laws residences in connection with a disproportionate asset case.

The team is still investigating the other four lockers.

The IG further said that Vivek Kumar’s name has been cleared by the Central government for his appointment as OSD to union minister Satyapal Singh and he was set to be relieved by the state goverment soon but the raid played the spoil sport.

An FIR was lodged against him on April 15 with Special Vigilance Unit police station under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and IPC.
