13yrold girl raped by Class 8 boy

VARANASI: A Class 8 student allegedly raped a Class 7 girl in a village in Azamgarh district on Thursday evening, police said, adding that the culprit had been taken into custody.

“A case has been registered and the girl has been admitted to BHU hospital for treatment. The accused was taken into custody during the night,” said SP Narendra Pratap Singh. He said the victim and the culprit studied in the same school.

The incident took place when the girl went to the field. Finding her alone, the boy took her to a room near a tubewell and allegedly raped her, police said. After that, he fled the scene.
