AGRA: National bravery award winner Nazia Khan, 20, was injured in a clash over a land dispute under Tajganj police station in Agra on Friday.

Police said the clash took place when Nazia along with her family members went to Tajganj to talk to the opposite party over a dispute on a piece of land purchased by Nazia’a uncle near the Taj Mahal.

“The dispute is pending before the court in Agra but the other party attained permission from administrative officials in Agra and laid tin shades despite matter being sub judice,” stated Nazia.

The dispute is over plot of land which Nazia alleges has been in possession of a lawyer who was earlier a tenant of her uncle.

“I was asked by the ADM city to visit the spot on Friday and once I reached the spot, I and my cousin were attacked by those from other party leaving me injured and bleeding,” she alleged.

A bleeding Nazia reached the office of SP (city) Kunwar Anupam Singh and demanded action.

“Nazia Khan had met me and told about the matter. Medical examination was ordered for injuries to half a dozen persons from both sides,” said the SP (city).

“A complaint was taken from Nazia Khan and a case is being registered against half a dozen accused,” he added.
