EXPELLED CONG LEADER SITS ON DHARNA

LUCKNOW: Expelled Congress leader Sanjay Dixit sat on a dharna on Friday at the Congress headquarters demanding action against the coordinator of the party’s Backward Cell.

Dixit said a Kanpur Congress leader Siddheshwar Tripathi had charged Rahul Sachchan, the coordinator of the Congress’ UP Backward Cell, with threatening to abduct and bump off Tripathi and his family. Tripathi had even filed a complaint with the Rajpur police station in Kanpur Dehat, Dixit said adding Tripathi had made a complaint to the party’s state president Raj Babbar as well but the party took no action against Sachchan.

The UP Congress Committee had expelled Dixit recently for opposing induction of former Bahujan Samaj Party leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui in the Congress.
