ALLAHABAD: The UP Board administration has decided to lodge FIRs against its tainted clerks who were found guilty of replacing original records of around 150 former students of the board with forged ones thus helping the latter bag jobs as assistant teachers in Government Inter Colleges (GIC) in 2016.

However, senior official sources preferred anonymity while revealing the decision, clearance for which has been taken from UP Board director. The board officials have decided to refrain from a formal announcement about the decision in view of the anticipated agitation that its employees could launch leading to disturbance in its declaration of High School and Intermediate results on April 29.

As per reports, the recruitment on the post of assistant teachers (LT grade) was carried out in GIC of state in 2016 on the basis of marks obtained by applicants in High School, Intermediate, Graduation and B Ed. As the recruitments pertained to government jobs, the stakes were also high, which led to aspirants bribe the clerks of UP Board to change their original marks in tabulation records of the Board as well as the school where they had appeared, with higher grades to ensure being recruited.

An inquiry set up by the Board in 2016 had found some clerks of record section of the Board guilty of tampering original documents including tabulation record present with the Board besides a copy of the same kept safe in the custody of schools.

Investigations by Board officials in 2016 had revealed tampering with original High School examination records of 73 students conducted in 1999 besides records of Intermediate examination of the Board of 76 students conducted in 2001. The original records carrying low grades were replaced with fake documents carrying high marks. This was done by clerks of UP Board deputed in its record section in nexus with authorities of five schools of Allahabad affiliated with the Board including BD Yadav Maharishi Krishna Inter College, Handia, Sarvjanik Inter College, Daser, Bhupatpur, Sarvodaya Shiksha Sadan Inter College, Lokmanpur, Rampyari Devi Inter College, Belavari and Seth Gangaram Jaiswal Inter College. Presently the tainted clerks have been shifted from record section to other sections.
