ALLAHABAD: State tourism department is all set to mesmerise tourists and pilgrims arriving in Sangam city from across the world to attend the Kumbh 2019. Thanks to its ‘laser light show’ plan which the department has made to entertain audience during the mega religious event. The show will be organised daily at the VIP ghat. The department plans to make the laser lighting display on the huge wall of the Akbar Fort built by the Mughal emperor in 1583.

A laser light show involves the use of laser light to entertain audience. It may consist only of projected laser beams set to music, or may accompany another form of entertainment, typically musical performances.

“A talk with top Army officials is under way to get a no objection certificate as without their permission the idea cannot be executed. Hopefully, we will get it soon,” said regional tourist officer, Allahabad region Anupam Srivastava.

As per the plan, the laser show will be done at the VIP ghat on the huge wall of the fort situated in the line of Bade Hanuman Temple at Sangam as its dimension suits to the plan.

“The other reason for choosing this section was to generate a thrill among viewers through the reflection of light on the waters of the Yamuna and the Ganga,” he added. “This will be a spectacular experience for viewers at night, something which they have never been witnessed before,” claimed Srivastava.

He said a PowerPoint presentation had also been done before Kumbh Mela officials. “They also have appreciated the plan,” he added. Srivastava said a laser light show had already been done in the recently held annual magh mela. He said the plan was also to make the similar arrangement in all sectors of the mela kshetra but for now the department was focusing on the fort.
