Gkp, Kushinagar schools remain closed

GORAKHPUR : Majority of private schools in Gorakhpur and Kushinagar remained closed on Friday to pay tribute to the children who died in an accident at an unmanned crossing in Dudahi on Thursday. The call for school closure was given by Gorakhpur Private School Association.

The schools run by Christian missionaries also remained shut. “On our appeal, all private schools remained closed today to pay homage to the children killed on Thursday,” said Ajay Shahi, president of the association.

In Gorakhpur, market too wore a deserted look as many shopkeepers kept their shutters down to condole the deaths.

different places, including DDU University gate, Indira Tiraha and Town Hall.

Local Samajwadi Party leaders, who visited the injured at BRD medical college, paid tribute to the accident victims. Student wing of Congress NSUI also paid tribute.

In Kushinagar , schools including St John, Sanskrit public school, Mount Hera remained closed and market wore deserted look as shopkeepers kept their shutters down to condole the deaths.
