Gkp, Kushinagar schools remain closed

GORAKHPUR : Majority of private schools in Gorakhpur and Kushinagar remained closed on Friday to pay tribute to the children who died in an accident at an unmanned crossing in Dudahi on Thursday. The call for school closure was given by Gorakhpur Private School Associatio­n.

The schools run by Christian missionari­es also remained shut. “On our appeal, all private schools remained closed today to pay homage to the children killed on Thursday,” said Ajay Shahi, president of the associatio­n.

In Gorakhpur, market too wore a deserted look as many shopkeeper­s kept their shutters down to condole the deaths.
