GLI shuts down evening classes, cuts 50% seats

KANPUR : The Government Leather Institute (GLI) here has closed the evening classes and reduced seats in all courses offered by it by 50% from the current session for want of students and teachers. The GLI has been the backbone of leather industry of the city and the country alike. Top most leather industries used to handpick students during campus placement. Earlier, there were 120 seats in each discipline but now it has been reduced to 60 in each course, said principal Vivek Mehrotra.
