13-year-old girl raped by boy of same age in Ballia

VARANASI: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a boy of the same age while she was going to attend the call of nature in Fefna area of Ballia on Monday evening, police said.

In-charge of Fefna police station Vineet Mohan Pathak said, “The victim girl has identified the accused boy who is about 13 years of age. He has been arrested,” he said. Pathak said relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had been included in the FIR. Pathak said a case had been registered on the complaint lodged by the girl’s family. He said the victim’s family told the police that the girl was going to attend the call of nature when the boy, who is from the same area, raped her.

The officer said the family came to know about the incident when the girl’s condition started deteriorating. “The girl’s medical examination has been conducted and further probe is on into the case,” he said.
