Economic recovery boosts revenue

The government has collected R1.03 lakh crore from the goods and services tax (GST) in April, the first time that revenues have crossed the trillion-mark after the new tax regime was rolled out on July 1. The rise may be due to economic recovery and improvement in compliance, the finance ministry said.
