Honey trap-blackmail racket: Woman, her two brothers held
LUCKNOW: With the arrest of a woman and her two brothers in Ghazipur, city police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a honey trap and blackmail racket. Police said the siblings had victimised many, but nobody lodged a complaint fearing social humiliation.
Station house officer (SHO), Ghazipur police station, Sujeet Rai said the accused were identified as Dimple Singh, 30, and her elder brothers -- Neeraj Kumar, 37, and Ashutosh Kumar, 42.

A businessmen complained to the police after the trio demanded more money and threatened to ruin his family life.

husband Sanjeev Jain and stayed with her brothers near Meena market in Ghazipur. “They blackmailed at least 8 to 10 businessmen / traders over the past few years,” he said.
Explaining the gang’s modus operandi, the SHO said, “The woman used to strike friendship with people and chatted with them on facebook and other social sites. She mainly targeted businessmen. Later, her brothers approached these men and threatened to complain to the police and disclose their relationship (with Dimple) to their families. Most of them succumbed to pressure and agreed to pay up for burying the matter.”
He said the siblings were targeting a businessmen of Bhootnath market for the past few days and had managed to extort ₹ 30,000 from him. “The businessmen complained to the police after the trio demanded more money and threatened to ruin his family life,” said Rai.
The culprits were arrested when they reached the businessman’s shop on Thursday to collect more money. “They have been charged under section 384 of the Indian Penal Code for extortion,” said the SHO.
