Integrated system for better interaction between cops
LUCKNOW: Now, senior officials of UP police will be able to interact with their subordinates at zone, range and district levels more conveniently and effectively after an integrated video conferencing system was made operational at UP100 headquarters here on Thursday.
UP director general of police (DGP), OP Singh inaugurated the video conferencing system on Thursday. He also interacted with all the additional director generals (ADG), inspector generals (IGs), deputy inspector generals and district police chiefs and issued directions to maintain peace during Ramzan.
Till now, the police leaderships’ video conferencing was
done through national informatics centres (nic) but now all district police headquarters, offices of all ADGs/IGs zone and IGs/ DIGs range had been integrated through independent video conferencing system and top leadership could interact with them round the clock and at very short notice, said the DGP.
“In the first video conferencing held on Thursday, all ADGs, IGs, DIGs and district police chiefs have been directed to review the situation to maintain peace in sensitive districts during Ramzan,” the DGP said.
He also directed the district police chiefs to check preparedness for floods as monsoon was likely to arrive from June 21. He
asked them to visit sensitive spots and ensure proper arrangements.
“District police chiefs are
asked to rope in local people and NGOs to avert any kind of situation during flood season. They have been directed to constitute
flood relief outposts where affected people could approach them and get their immediate help,” he added. Officials were also asked to outsource divers and swimmers to provide immediate
help to flood victims, the DGP said and added that contact numbers of relief teams of PAC as well as drones were circulated in the flood prone districts in advance.
