Unnao case: CBI gets 3 days custody remand of two policemen

-

LUCKNOW: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday got the three day custody remand of suspended station house officer (SHO) and sub inspector (SI) of Makhi police station in Unnao.

The duo were arrested for their alleged connivance with BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his aides in attacking and sending the teenage rape victim’s father to jail in a false case.

The CBI team will now rigorously interrogate the two cops— SHO Ashok Singh Bhadauria and SI Kamta Prasad Singh, who were produced before the Lucknow CBI court on Thursday. The custody remand period will start from Friday morning and last till Monday morning.

A senior CBI official said the two policemen will be quizzed about the sequence of event since April 3 when the victim girl’s father was allegedly beaten up by the BJP MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar and his goons in which he suffered multiple injuries.

He said the victim’s father was thereafter booked under false case of having possession of illegal firearm and send to jail without providing proper medical treatment.

The official said the CBI had arrested the two policemen allegedly under charges of criminal conspiracy, giving false information, creating false evidence, framing incorrect record despite being public servant and for showing illegal firearm in possession of the victim’s father.
