Vishwajeet Mishra, Shivansh shine

LUCKNOW : Sparkling half centuries by Vishwajeet Mishra and Shivansh Kapoor helped Cricket Association Lucknow Blue score a comprehensive 172-run win against District Cricket Association, Unnao in the Under-19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament, at the Northern Railway Stadium here on Wednesday.

Vishwajeet slammed 48-ball 52 with the help of eight hits to the fence, whereas Shivansh made 50 in 67 balls with the help of three fours as CAL Blue piled up 296 for six in 45 overs while batting first after winning the toss.

In reply, DCA, Unnao after having a shaky start, kept losing wickets on regular intervals before being bundled out for 135 in 28 overs. Opener Nirbhay Kushwaha struck highest 38, which came off 30 balls with the help of six hits to the fence. Gurveer Singh made 26. For CAL Blue, Surendra and Aman shared four wickets.

YO-YO TEST

Persons appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Hockey umpiring examination on May 20, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here at 10 a.m., will have to pass through Yo-Yo test also. This will be followed by the written tests, states Uttar Pradesh Hockey.

An advocate at the Allahabad High Court, Aditya Singh has been appointed as one of the members of the legal cell of the Indian Olympic Association. UP Olympic Association’s secretary Anandeshwar Pandey informed that Aditya was inducted in the legal cell by the IOA chief Narinder Batra. This is for the first time when someone from the state has made it to the legal cell of the IOA.
