‘It’s the time to celebrate’
LUCKNOW: After all the hard work, it’s celebration time for those who qualified JEE advanced .
City lad Ishank Srivastava who secured AIR-598 by scoring 227 out of 360 with 91 in physics, 80 in chemistry and 56 in mathematics, was in a party mood.
“Abhi to party shuru hui hai,” said this student of GD Goenka Public School, who is not satisfied with his results. His teachers found him very committed and hard working. He scored 92% marks in the CBSE 2018 result s declared last month. "He took all challenges in his stride and struck a fine balance between his preparation for the Board exam and for JEE”, said a teacher.
Ishank, who wants to pursue computer science from IIT Delhi, decided to switch to electrical engineering as he was sure that he would not get the subject in the best of the IITs. Ishank said, “A good institution has more recognition. So I will study electrical engineering from IIT Delhi instead of opting for computer science from any lesser known college.”
His father, Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, is manager with private company and mother Geeta Srivastava is a homemaker. Ishank acknowledged that till Class 10, his ambition was to crack civil services exam. The family is now celebrating Ishank’s success and his elder sister, Anshita Srivastava said, “I am very proud of my brother for scoring so well in the first attempt.”
On his strategies, Ishank said , “I always try to keep my concepts clear, especially theories. Solving mock papers of the past 10 years has really helped me in scoring well.” He is the holder of ‘The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna’ (KVPY) scholarship and also took part in the International Math’s Olympiad where he secured 500th rank.
A student of CMS, Aliganj campus 1, Gaurang Tandon secured AIR 668 with 224 marks. He said, “Consistent hard work, good strategies and solid quality assurance processes form the base of success.”
Jyoti Kashyap, principal of CMS Aliganj Campus I said that Gaurang was a gem of her campus who was very good at studies and extracurricular activities. “CMS prepares its students as per the need of the hour and hence, they scale new heights day by day,” she said .
President of CMS, Prof Geeta Gandhi Kingdon congratulated the student and said that was euphoria in CMS as this city topper news in IIT JEE (Advanced) came close on the heels of three national toppers in ISC and the city topper in NEET.
Other high rankers from city, Ayush Singh (AIR 1017), Astitva Chaudhary (AIR 1044), Shubhang Pandey (AIR 1226), Divyansh Singh (AIR 1403), Shreyansh dhar Dwivedi (AIR 1816) also said it was time for them to celebrate their success. NISHA KUMARI
