CM MEETS PEOPLE UNDER BJP’S ‘SAMPARK’ PROGRAMME

GORAKHPUR : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reached his hometown Gorakhpur on a two-day visit and started meeting eminent persons as part of the BJP’s ongoing ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ campaign (reaching out people to seek support for 2019 Lok Sabha election) launched earlier by saffron party’s national president Amit Shah.

The party cadre has selected five people whom the CM will visit during his stay. On Sunday after inaugurati­ng Guru Gorakhnath Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Chak Mafi in Pipiganj, the CM’s fleet drove to Bargadwa where he met Om Prakash Jalan, a well-known businessma­n of the city and apprised him of the welfare work done in the last four years under the BJP-led NDA government and also by his government in the last one year in Uttar Pradesh. The CM also sought feedback on the government work and asked Jalan to extend support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in bringing it back to power again with huge mandate in 2019. “We will continue this Jan Sampark programme in the coming days “,” said Yogi while talking to reported at Jalan’s residence. Thereafter he was scheduled to meet Prof Ram Dev Shukla, ex-HoD department of Hindi DDU Gorakhpur University, but the programme was cancelled as the famous littérateu­r was out of city due to some work. Hence after meeting Jalan, the CM’s fleet proceeded towards Gorakhnath temple where he spent the night.
