Now, more MBBS seats for Ut­tar Pradesh

LUC­KNOW: Four med­i­cal col­leges in UP have been al­lowed to take ad­mis­sions on MBBS seats.

“The Supreme Court al­lowed ad­mis­sions at Jalaun, Sa­ha­ran­pur, Banda and Aza­m­garh,” said Dr KK Gupta, D-G (med­i­cal education). He said af­ter ad­mis­sions to these col­leges, MBBS seats would in­crease by 400 in the state.

Ear­lier this year, the MCI had de­nied ad­mis­sion to these four col­leges af­ter rep­re­sen­ta­tives con­ducted in­spec­tion and pointed out short­com­ings in in­fra­struc­ture and other fa­cil­i­ties on the cam­pus of these col­leges.

The state now has 1,990 MBBS seats, in­clud­ing 15% cen­tral gov­ern­ment ad­mis­sion quota. The NEET re­sults have been an­nounced and these col­leges will be in­cluded in the coun­selling.
