Now, more MBBS seats for Uttar Pradesh
LUCKNOW: Four medical colleges in UP have been allowed to take admissions on MBBS seats.
“The Supreme Court allowed admissions at Jalaun, Saharanpur, Banda and Azamgarh,” said Dr KK Gupta, D-G (medical education). He said after admissions to these colleges, MBBS seats would increase by 400 in the state.
Earlier this year, the MCI had denied admission to these four colleges after representatives conducted inspection and pointed out shortcomings in infrastructure and other facilities on the campus of these colleges.
The state now has 1,990 MBBS seats, including 15% central government admission quota. The NEET results have been announced and these colleges will be included in the counselling.
