Poor pass %age: CSJMU re­futes charges of wrong eval­u­a­tion

KAN­PUR : Days af­ter stu­dents of Cha­tra­p­ati Shahu Ji Ma­haraj Uni­ver­sity (CSJMU) cre­ated ruckus al­leg­ing that they were failed in BSc and MSc ex­am­i­na­tions due to wrong eval­u­a­tion of an­swer sheets the var­sity de­nied any wrong­do­ing and said the stu­dents flunked as they did not an­swer the ques­tions cor­rectly.

About 70% of B Sc stu­dents, 51% of M Sc (pre­vi­ous) and over 15% MSc fi­nal stu­dents failed to clear the ex­am­i­na­tion this year and blamed the var­sity of work­ing ‘through an agenda’.

They even clashed with po­lice at the uni­ver­sity gate on Monday fol­low­ing which po­lice lath­icharged the stu­dents.

Dur­ing a meet­ing on Thursday se­nior exam co­or­di­na­tors SK Dixit, SB Mall, Ghan­shyam Gupta and SS To­mar told VC Prof Nil­ima Gupta that eval­u­a­tors had ap­prised them dur­ing eval­u­a­tion that a large num­ber of ex­am­i­nees had left the an­swer books blank or wrote love sto­ries and ob­jec­tion­able state­ments, prob­a­bly due to curbs on copy­ing.
