Dud­hwa closes for sea­son to­day

LAKHIMPUR KHERI: The Dud­hwa Na­tional Park (DNP) will close for the sea­son on Friday. The next tourist sea­son will be­gin from Novem­ber 15. Fre­quent sight­ing of tigers this sea­son was an added at­trac­tion for the tourists.

Field di­rec­tor Ramesh Pandey said, “Apart from Dud­hwa Na­tional Park, the Kis­han­pur wildlife sanc­tu­ary also at­tracted tourists as more tigers were seen there.”Pandey said, “In the next sea­son, Dud­hwa will en­sure brand­ing of its flag­ship na­tional an­i­mal tiger on the pat­tern of Ranatham­bore tiger re­serve, where an area is branded by a tiger’s ter­ri­tory.”

Tourists fre­quently sighted the ti­gresses ‘Kankatti’ and ‘Bel­danda’, as well as an­other tiger in Kis­han­pur this sea­son. Dud­hwa of­fi­cials plan to brand these ar­eas by the names of these tigers.
