Dudhwa closes for season today
LAKHIMPUR KHERI: The Dudhwa National Park (DNP) will close for the season on Friday. The next tourist season will begin from November 15. Frequent sighting of tigers this season was an added attraction for the tourists.
Field director Ramesh Pandey said, “Apart from Dudhwa National Park, the Kishanpur wildlife sanctuary also attracted tourists as more tigers were seen there.”Pandey said, “In the next season, Dudhwa will ensure branding of its flagship national animal tiger on the pattern of Ranathambore tiger reserve, where an area is branded by a tiger’s territory.”
Tourists frequently sighted the tigresses ‘Kankatti’ and ‘Beldanda’, as well as another tiger in Kishanpur this season. Dudhwa officials plan to brand these areas by the names of these tigers.
