Mar­tyred BSF S-I cre­mated with full hon­ours

AGRA: The mor­tal re­mains of Bor­der Se­cu­rity Force (BSF) sub in­spec­tor Ra­jneesh Ku­mar, 32, who was killed in ac­tion in Jammu, were con­signed to flames at his pa­ter­nal vil­lage Sa­di­a­pur in Etah dis­trict on Thursday.

A large num­ber of vil­lagers, in­clud­ing those from nearby ar­eas, bid a tear­ful adieu to the valiant sol­dier who died in fir­ing by Pak­istan forces in Ram Garh Sec­tor of Jammu on Tuesday night.

Ra­jneesh Ku­mar’s three­year-old son lit the funeral pyre with his un­cle Varun Ya­dav.

The cre­ma­tion was con­ducted with full hon­ours in the pres­ence of Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment Ra­jveer Singh Raju, in charge min­is­ter Atul Garg, MLA, Ali­ganj Satya Pal Singh Rathore, MP from Farukkhabad Mukesh Ra­jput, dis­trict mag­is­trate Amit Kishore and SSP Etah, Akhilesh Ku­mar Chaura­sia.

Ear­lier, UP chief min­is­ter Yogi Aditya Nath had de­clared fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance of Rs 25 lakh to the fam­ily of the mar­tyr and the cheque was handed over on Thursday.
