BJP MLA escapes unhurt after SUV overturns
AGRA : BJP MLA from Aliganj constituency of Etah, Satya Pal Singh Rathore escaped unhurt on Monday after his SUV tumbled multiple times on Agra-Lucknow Expressway. The mishap happened due to a technical snag in the vehicle. The MLA did not sustain any major injury as he was wearing his seat belt.
AGRA: BJP MLA from Aliganj constituency of Etah, Satya Pal Singh Rathore escaped unhurt on Monday after his SUV tumbled multiple times on AgraLucknow Expressway.
The mishap happened due to a technical snag in the vehicle.
The MLA did not sustain any major injury as he was wearing his seat belt.
Rathore was on his way to Lucknow to meet chief minister Yogi Adityanath but had to return to Etah after the accident, which happened near Mandi under Chatia police station of Kannauj around 2 pm.
The SUV was damaged in the accident and the MLA had to call for another vehicle.
“Those known to me used to mock at my habit of wearing the seat belt while travelling. But today, it was because of this that I escaped without any major injury barring a few on the head due to glass particles from the broken windshield. The vehicle was totally damaged in the mishap,” stated Rathore.
“The vehicle was moving smoothly as we left Etah. I had to meet chief minister Yogi Adityanath later in evening on Monday. There was an unusual sound and the vehicle overturned before we could understand anything,” stated the MLA after the accident in Kannauj district.
“The police were informed on Dial100 and their response was quick. First aid was given to us as our driver Ankur sustained minor injuries,” added Rathore. The 302-km Agra-Lucknow Expressway has been in the news for accidents.
As per RTI information, 100 people died in 853 accidents on this expressway in a period of eight months from August 2017 to March 2018.
