CBI arrests SSB accountant for demanding bribe
LUCKNOW: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a senior accountant of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from its Lucknow headquarters for allegedly demanding bribe from a constable here on Monday. The accountant allegedly demanded bribe of ₹4000 from the constable for clearance of his contingency and medical bills and updating service book.
A senior CBI officer confirmed that the accountant Ram Niwas Verma was arrested red handed during a trap laid by constable Manish Singh posted at 3rd battalion of SSB in Lakhimpur Kheri.

chief vigilance officer Renuka Mishra at the SSP headquarters in Delhi on June 12 regarding demand of illegal gratification.
He said the chief vigilance officer informed the matter to the CBI and requested to lay the trap against the accountant to arrest him red-handed. He said the chief vigilance officer had also conducted the enquiry against the accountant before transferring the matter to the CBI during which the allegations were found true. He said the CBI has sent the accountant into judicial custody after producing him before a court and further investigation in the matter is going on.
