DM directs officials to make arrangements to facilitate pilgrims
LUCKNOW: Gearing up for Haj 2018, the district magistrate took a meeting to review the ongoing preparations at the Haj house here on Tuesday. Over 15,000 pilgrims would leave for Haj between July 14 and July 29 from Lucknow this year.
DM reviewed the preparations in detail and directed the concerned departments and officials to make all possible arrangements for the pilgrims.
“Over 15,000 pilgrims will fly between July 14 and July 29 from Lucknow. Officials should make all arrangements to avoid any inconveniences to the pilgrims,” said Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate.
Sharma said the pilgrims would have to report at the Haj house, at least 48 hours prior to departure of the flight. On an average, around 700 to 900 pilgrims would board the flights daily and one attendant could stay along with each pilgrim, he said.
He added that the management should ensure that the number of pilgrims did not exceed 2,500. He also directed the officials to make all arrangements at the Haj house.
He said the RTO and the police would ensure smooth vehicular movement on the Kanpur highway where Haj house is located.
Besides, the municipal corporation would ensure civic amenities at the Haj house and its surrounding areas.
