Feeling stressed is a part and parcel of life. While there is no escaping them, but we need to acquire better coping skills to be able to overcome the stressors in our lives.

Listen to music

Thinking of your favorite song and spending a minute or two humming even a few verses can help you interrupt your stress cycle.

Meditation

In this fast-paced life, practicing even five minutes of meditation helps in giving a sense of serenity and calmness. Deep breathing and muscle relaxation exercises and yoga techniques help in achieving a mind-body well being.

Nature

A nature walk can not only give you a sense of peace and calmness, but it also serves as a change of atmosphere as well as a form of physical exercise. Often simply gazing at the stars in the sky, or some simple gardening can be a refreshing break from your mundane life.

Pursue your hobbies

You must always take out time for reading your favorite book, watching your favorite show on TV, and pursuing whatever it is you enjoy the most. Pursuing your hobbies not only serves a recreation­al purpose, but also helps give boost your confidence by developing your talents.

Play with your Pet

Spending time with your beloved pet actually helps in bringing down your stress levels. Even if you don’t have a pet, spend some time with your friend’s pet, and enjoy their unconditio­nal love and affection towards you!

Live in the moment

Try to de-clutter your life and focus on the present rather than dwelling about the past or the future. In the midst of our planning and our efforts to excel in our lives, we must not forget to live in the present and enjoy each moment to the fullest. Reach out

A social network is one of the best tools to be able to de-stress. It is the best outlet for relieving oneself. You should always seek the company of your friends to share your experience­s, thereby getting your feelings out of your system, and also getting their feedback and support.

Humor

Having a good laugh out loud doesn’t just help lighten one’s mood. It also boosts the body’s “happy hormones” (i.e. endorphins), and makes you forget your stresses for the time being. Humor is known to be the best healer, and having fun is itself a stress buster.
