LUCKNOW: Prolonged power cuts are becoming routine in Alambagh, much to the discomfiture of the residents .

On Thursday night, many a residents of Alambagh spent a sleepless night because of tripping of LESA I feeder . The residents of Tehripulia, Adarsh Nagar, Sujanpura, Patel Nagar, Barha, Shanti Nagar, Kailashpur, Arjun Nagar, Pawanpuri, Sardari khera and Chander Nagar are facing daily power cuts due to tripping of LESA I feeder.

Virendra Singh Yadav, a resident of Patel Nagar said, “How can LESA engineers afford to let LESA -I feeder fail almost daily? We are facing around 12 to 20 power cuts daily and two prolonged power cuts of around 4-8 hours almost every alternate day.”

Nikhil Chaturvedi of the same area said, “The Railway power house substation staff does not answer the phone . The staff doesn’t care to attend the calls of consumers who want to know when the power supply would resume. On Thursday, the power supply was snapped at 10 pm and was resumed at 4 am. It again tripped at 4.45 am and resumed at 6am.”

However, GM LESA Cis-Gomti Madhukar Varma said that he had just taken the charge of the area and was trying to understand the problems. He assured that things would improve within a week.

“KEI, the company laying new cables for LESA, is digging up the road and cutting our existing cables daily. LESA will take stern action against the company if they don’t stop cutting the cables and disturbing the power supply daily,” he said .
