LMRC boosting last mile connectivity with ‘Metro Mitra’ services
LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has prepared the blueprint to start full-fledged feeder services for boosting the last mile connectivity for Metro passengers.
Called ‘Metro Mitra’, the e-rickshaw services are being provided by a Pune-based company, Kinetic Green, which has been hired by the LMRC.
In the first phase, the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation has started e-rickshaw services on its eight operational metro stations.
“The company is operating 19 e-rickshaws on these routes,” said LMRC managing director Kumar Keshav.
Different cities have different mobility requirements that depend on factors like distances, road connectivity and passenger load, he said.
Lucknow has its own problems when it comes to vehicle parking, and passenger load and preferences.
“Here in Lucknow, green transport is required, which is both safe and environmentfriendly,” said Kumar Keshav. These e-rickshaws also fulfil the requirement of being pollutionfree, noise-free, economical and a practical transport system.

LMRC’s full-fledged feeder services will begin only after the completion of the Amausi Munshipulia corridor, said officials.
At present, the services have been started on an experimental basis with the aim to test the traffic on these routes, they added.
