Now, UP Board to train teachers in NCERT curriculum
ALLAHABAD: With an aim to enable its teachers of around 26,000 schools in state to teach students prescribed curriculum of National Council of Education, Research and Training (NCERT) efficiently, the UP Board has decided to impart training to teachers by organising special sessions from next week.
UP Board Director Sahab Singh Niranjan has issued directives in this regard to all district inspectors of schools (DIoSs). In his letter dated July 4, 2018 Niranjan has stated that since NCERT books had been introduced in UP Board schools the first time and teachers there were yet not well versed with the new curriculum, a training session for them was required. For achieving the same, in every district, 40 retired teachers of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be roped in as resource persons for imparting training to 40 experienced subject teachers in every development block of all districts.
These teachers, in turn, will act as master trainers and impart training to subject teachers in their development blocks.

From the new academic session, the UP Board has replaced existing 31 textbooks of 18 subjects for classes 9-12 with those of NCERT and the price of books, printed on better paper, has been kept reasonable.
According to UP Board secretary Neena Srivastava, the training will be organised in government inter colleges at all district headquarters while in development blocks the same would be held in colleges having proper facilities.
“All DIoSs have been asked to organise training session for teachers this month,” she said.
