Girl ‘raped’ by principal, teachers

PATNA: A girl studying in class 9 in a private school in Bihar’s Saran district has alleged that she had been sexually exploited over the last eight months by 18 people including her schoolmates, two teachers and the principal.

Apprehending social backlash, she said, she had been silently suffering the ordeal till the school principal, whom she approached as a last resort, too raped her.

Based on the FIR filed by her, Saran police on Friday arrested four people including the accused principal, one teacher and two students of the school who are minors. The girl, who approached police superintendent Har Kishore Rai with her complaint on Friday morning, has been sent to the Chhapra Sadar Hospital for a medical check-up while a search was on to find the others accused in the case. According to the FIR, the girl was raped by three school mates in the school lavatory in December 2017. The perpetrators reportedly recorded the act and threatened to make the video public if she told anybody.

Days later however, the three shared the video with other friends and eventually the video came to the attention of the staff and the principal, read the complaint. Everyone in possession of the video began blackmailing her for sex, it further said. “The poor girl, apprehending stigma and the video going viral in public, went on giving in to the demands,” Rai said. In the end, she appealed to the principal, he added. However instead of approaching police and helping the girl, the SP said, the principal called her to his office and raped her.
