Lucknow boys continue winning in state football
LUCKNOW : Favourites Lucknow continued their winning streak in the State Sub-Junior Boys Football Championship, brushing aside Agra 2-1 in Bareilly on Thursday. Atul Chauhan and Rajneesh Rai shared two goals between them, whereas Shadab scored the consolation goal for Agra.

Aliganj Warriors scored 3-1 win against UFC Aliganj in the District Football League-2018, at the Chowk Stadium here on Thursday. Rohit, Amrish and Riyaz netted for the winners, whereas Wasi scored for the losers. In other match of the day, Chowk Sporting beat RA Boys by 2-0. Shikhar and Abhishek scored a goal each.

Hosts Aryavart Cricket Academy (ACA) scored a convincing 44-run win against Cricket Promotion Group (CPG) to make it to the semi-finals of the 2nd Aryavart Trophy Cricket Tournament here on Thursday.

India No 2 snooker player Malkeet Singh of Lucknow would be seen in action in the 4th Nawab Emaduddin Ashraf Memorial Billiards and Snooker Handicap Tournament, starting Friday, at the Oudh Gymkhana Club here. Top seed Malkeet would be playing against KN Vishwakarma in his opening match.

The Basketball Federation of India is going to organize School’s Basketball League in August-September. Players born on or after January 1, 2001 and studying in class 12th are eligible to participate.
SELECTION TRIALS
Trials to pick district sub-junior girls boxing team will be held on August 4, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here at 2.00 p.m. This will be followed by the regional trials on August 6 at the same venue.
The state championship is scheduled to be held from August 9 to 12 at Eta. Players born between 2002 to 2006 are eligible to participate.

RUDRA BAGS GOLD
Young Rudra Singh Krishna of Noida bagged a gold medal in under-14 Recurve archery in the 3rd National Inter-State Sports Championship at Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh). A student of Step by Step School, Rudra scored 82 out of possible 90 points in 50metre. Over 2000 athletes from 22 states took part in the three-day event.
Rudra has earlier won gold medal and silver medal at the 38th Delhi State Archery Championships in Olympic round and team ranking events in April 2018. Rudra has been under training at Noida Archery Centre and Yamuna Sports Complex under the coaches Lokesh, Rahul and Anurag.
