UP govt inks MoU with bourses to help small investors mobilise funds
State would provide necessary support to stock exchanges to hold special training programmes for MSMEs
LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange to educate micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) about mobilisation of funds from markets.
The MSMEs had demanded that the state government should provide necessary help to small investors for mobilising funds through listing at the stock exchanges and bring down dependence on the banks.
At the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit-2018, the state government had assured the MSMEs that it would explore the option of giving financial assistance for listing at the stock exchange.
Final touches were also given to arrangements at all the district headquarters for live telecast of the groundbreaking ceremony being organised here to launch projects worth ₹60,000 crore on
Sunday.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the new projects, the ministers in charge of districts, MPs and MLAs have been asked to remain present at the live telecast programme venues.
Large LED screens will be put up at the venues where local investors will also be invited.
Chief secretary Aoop Chandra Pandey, who reviewed the preparations for the live telecast and Prime Minister’s visit to the state capital on July 28 and 29, said the memorandum of understandings (MoUs) would open new avenues of getting funds.
He said the state government would provide necessary support to the stock exchanges too to hold special training programmes for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He said road shows would be organised from time to time to make the investors aware about the rules for listing etc. at the stock exchanges.
On Saturday, the PM will attend the concluding session of the two-day conference titled ‘Transforming Urban Landscape 3rd anniversary of PMAY-U, AMRUT and SMART City Mission’ scheduled to commence at the Indira Gandhi Pratisthan here on Friday.
