Venkaiah Naidu to be chief guest at Dussehra celebrations
LUCKNOW: Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest at the Dussehra celebrations to be organised at Aishbagh Ramleela ground this year on October 19 while the Ramleela would be inaugurated by deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma on Wednesday.
Governor Ram Naik will be a special guest for Dussehra celebrations.
The venue will have a 150feet-tall Ravan effigy this year, said Aditya Dwivedi, secretary, Ramleela Samiti.
“The over 200-year-old Ramleela has been attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past,” he said.
Dwivedi added, “This year, the Ramleela pandal at Aishbagh would be based on Dashavatar of Lord Vishnu. All his avatars like Mastya Avatar, Kurm Avatar, Varah Avatar, Narsingh Avatar, Vaman Vatar, Parashuram Avatar, Ram Avatar, Krishna Avatar, Buddha Avatar, and Kalki Avatar would be displayed in the pandal.”
“During the Bharat Milap episode of Ramleela, some of the extinct musical instruments like hudka, morebean, chilamchi, tasha, jheenka, lejam, nagada, nagadia, bagaldhauns, pipahari would be displayed. Lok Nritya like Dhobia, Kaharwa, Farwahi, Adiwasi, Punjabi, Bundeli, Gujarati and Bihu would be performed by artistes of different states,” he said.
This year, a Youth Festival would also be organised at the venue during daytime.
