LUCKNOW: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is collecting the details of a mobile launch party in which Apple executive Vivek Tiwari was present at his Vibhuti Khand office on the night of September 28, prior to being shot by the two constables while going to drop his ex-colleague Sana Khan in an SUV.

The statements of people present in the party will also be recorded to ascertain Tiwari’s movement before the incident.

“A team was sent to Tiwari’s office where the party was held on the night of September 28, to collect details of those who attended the event. There are chances that they might reveal something that would shed light on the murder,” said IG of Police Lucknow Range Sujeet Pandey, who is heading the SIT. He said the team also checked the CCTV footage of the office to find out about people present during the launch party.

He said the office staff had been urged to come forward if they knew anything that could be helpful in the investigation. He said the SIT was trying to trace Tiwari’s movement since he left his house, before reaching Gomti Nagar extension where he was allegedly shot dead. Meanwhile, on Tuesday and Wednesday, statements of Gomti Nagar police station cops, who were on night duty when Tiwari was shot dead, were also recorded.

To recall, Tiwari was shot dead in Gomti Nagar extension when he was going to drop his ex-colleague Sana Khan in his SUV, at around 1.30 am on the intervening night of September 28 and 29.

Sana had told police and the media that two constables Prashant Chaudhary and Sandeep Rana had intercepted their vehicle. She said Chaudhary opened fire with his service pistol when Vivek tried to move on, fearing that the constables might misbehave with her.
