LUCKNOW: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday condemned BJP national president Amit Shah for his statement on the Supreme Court order over entry of women in Sabarimala temple in Kerala.
In a press statement, Mayawati said Shah was instructing the court that it should desist from delivering orders that could not be implemented. “The BJP chief further said that court should refrain from giving judgement in the matter related to faith. The statement of Shah was condemnable, the court should take cognizance of his speech as well,” she said.
The irresponsible proclamation of the Bharatiya Janata Party president made it clear that democracy was in danger. Autonomous institutions like the CBI, CVC, ED and the RBI were in crisis due to the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, she said.
The BSP chief further said the country was being run according the constitution but the BJP leaders were giving provocative speech to serve their vested political interest, which should be condemned.
“Shah plans to heighten the passion of the people in religious matters to use it during the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh,” she said.
If the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders had objection over the Supreme Court order of permitting entry of women of all age in the temple, they should find a solution through legal means rather than instigating the BJP cadre to indulge in violence and threaten the elected government in Kerala, she said.
Continuing her attack on Bharatiya Janata Party, Mayawati said the BJP had been using the religion for political gains during elections.
“The dual face of the Bharatiya Janata Party had been exposed before the people, who now knew that to hide their failure the BJP leaders were releasing statement on religion,” she said
