Krishi Kumbh will prove a trendsetter: Guv
LUCKNOW: Governor Ram Naik on Sunday said the Krishi Kumbh will soon prove to be a trendsetter for others to follow. He lauded the state government, especially the department of agriculture, for coming up with ‘such a wonderful concept’ and said it will help the farmers in increasing their income.
Naik was speaking at the closing ceremony of the three-day Krishi Kumbh at the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research here.
He said, “This Kumbh is closing… after that the real Kumbh will be held in Prayagraj next year.”
The governor felicitated 10 painters for depicting the benefits of not burning crop stubble. He also feted the 15 best livestock farmers.
Minister for agriculture Surya Pratap Shahi said, “We have awarded eight departments for their live demonstrations in agriculture. Around 71,000 farmers, scientists and company officials participated in the threeday Kumbh in which over 400 stalls were erected by companies from all parts of India. Government departments from states of Punjab, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab, Meghalaya, Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh also participated.”
Shahi said two sessions were organised for the farmers on Sunday, the first on ‘experiential learning to knowledge exchange’ and the second on Indo Japanese collaboration for ruminative agriculture.

PAINTERS, FARMERS AWARDED
The award for the best paintings went to Vanshika Jain (Muzaffarnagar), Nandini Maurya (Gonda), Gaurav Kumar (Saharanpur), Vijay Yadav (Sultanpur), Utkarsh Pratap Singh (Bulandshahr), Anmol Sony (Muzaffarnagar), Siddhi Jain (Barabanki), Shivam Chaurasia (Sant Kabir Nagar), Lavanya
Singh (Kanpur) and Shivani (Baghpat).
The farmers who were awarded were Arun Mahadev Jadhav (Maharashtra), Pavittar Pal Singh, Ram Saran Varma (Barabanki) and Bal Behari (Balrampur).
The prize for the best stalls went to Bayer, IFFCO, Israel Pavilion Rivoluta Aqua, Japan pavilion Miachi Corporation, New Swan Multitech, Nugi Veddu seed, Bank of Baroda, Kirloskar and the agricultural production market committee.
